 ASHLEY RICH
EXCLUSIVE INTERVIEW

Q. HOW DOES IT FEEL TO SEE YOURSELF ON THE COVER OF
INTERNATIONAL MODEL MAGAZINE?
There’s a sense of accomplishment & a little pride in seeing yourself on the cover of any magazine. There are millions of people in the world who all hold beauty in different ways, so to have mine shown on a platform feels good!

Q. HOW WERE YOU DISCOVERED? AND HOW LONG HAVE YOU BEEN MODELLING?
My mother was a model when she was younger and she raised me in beauty pageants, so I kind of was just born into in a way. I took a break for awhile after getting tired of beauty pageants but returned back to modeling in my adult years.

Q. WAS MODELLING SOMETHING YOU ALWAYS WANTED TO DO OR DID IT JUST KINDA HAPPEN?
Again, I was kind of born into it and shown the ropes from an early age. I don’t think I started making the decision to model until I was a young adult; before that, everything I did was because of my parents putting me into it.

Q. HOW DID YOU EXPERIENCE THE FIRST JOB YOU DID AS A MODEL?
The first experience I truly remember was when I was 15 years old and I won Miss Pre-Teen Tallahassee. It was nice to win that because I got a crown, trophies and medals. In my hometown, when you win a beauty pageant back then, you were put in the newspaper and in parade on a float during the spring in an event called Spring Time Tallahassee. The float experience was little embarrassing because my hometown was small, so I saw a lot of people I knew when in the parade. Because of school and how mean kids are, I had to deal with some adversities due to the attention I got from my pageants.

Q. WHAT’S THE BIGGEST MISCONCEPTION ABOUT THE FEMALE
MODELLING INDUSTRY?
People think having your picture taken is easy. There are many factors that go into a photo shoot; comfortability between the model and photographer, weather conditions, outfit/wardrobe challenge and more. There have been many times that after a shoot is finished that I feel  completely exhausted & drained. It is work!

Q. WHAT’S YOUR MOST MEMORABLE SHOOT?
I’d have to say with a  photographer who goes by Mana; he took the first images of me that became published. It’s hard to forget the shoot that gets you published for the first time.

Q. YOUR DREAM MODELLING  JOB?
Anything that would involve a tropical travel included or anything that would land me in a major magazine.

Q. WHAT HAVE YOU LEARNED FROM THE MODELLING INDUSTRY?
To appreciate myself; to love myself better, to accept my flaws, and confidence. I’ve gotten tougher skin from being in the industry for sure. I’ve learned who I am as a person and learned to shut out the negative opinions of others.

Q. WHAT DOES A TYPICAL DAY IN YOUR WEEK LOOK LIKE?
Right now I have a 6 month old daughter and I’m lucky enough to be able to stay home with her. I’m enjoying the quality time I get with her at such an important age. My days are spent being a super mom!

Q. WHAT DO YOU LIKE TO DO WHEN YOU HAVE TIME OFF?
My favorite place and thing is water. Anything that
involves me being in or around water is where I find the most peace & serenity.

Q. IF YOU WEREN’T A MODEL WHAT WOULD YOU BE?
I’ve been blessed to live out my dreams of modeling and being a music artist. I’ve taken breaks with each one. There were times I focused more on writing and performing and other times I solely focused on modeling. With all of that though, my greatest job and best thing I’ve ever been is a mother!

Q. YOUR PERSONAL PASSION OR HIDDEN TALENTS?
My first passion was music. My second passion was
modeling. I’ve been lucky enough to do both.

Q. FITNESS PLAYS AN  IMPORTANT ROLE IN THE LIFE OF A FEMALE MODEL.
WHAT DO YOU DO TO STAY IN SHAPE?
My favorite form of workout is boxing. I started boxing a few years back and every time I fully engage in boxing I get in the best shape I’ve ever been in. Water aerobics is a second favorite.

Q. DO YOU HAVE ANY BEAUTY ROUTINE YOU STICK TO DAILY?
I pride myself in being pretty natural; I don’t wear makeup on a daily basis, in fact, I don’t wear it u less I have a shoot or an event. I think the one thing I do, is take care of my skin. I oil my body right after showering while still wet. Keeping my skin
conditioned keeps me looking youthful to where makeup isn’t a necessity for me.

Q. ANY MESSAGE TO OUR  READERS?
Follow your dreams, no matter how unrealistic they may seem. No matter your age or any other factor. The dream is inside you for a reason. Go live it out!
